Note that the village shops operate on Spanish hours - generally 8am -2pm and 5pm to 9pm. The supermarkets and stores on the coast are generally open from 10 am to 10 pm and closed Sundays.

The village has a supermarket and numerous small shops which can cater for all your needs. However, if you require more

international and quality food there is an excellent supermarket, Supercor, at Puerto Nuevo de Guadiario (Sotogrande). There is also a Lidl and an English butcher (closes 5pm). At Los Barrios there is a Carrefour offering excellent value for money. If you are still desperate for all things English there is a Morrisons and Marks & Spencer in Gibraltar (45 minutes).

Fresh bread is available each morning at the bakery at the top of the hill from the house. The only place in the village that sells fresh semi-skimmed milk is the petrol station at Estación de Jimena, which incidentally is one of the few places for fresh bread on a Sunday.
